Jerry was born in Stewardson, Illinois, raised on a farm where he learned to work hard and expect the best out of the people in his life. He always wanted the people around him to succeed in whatever path they chose in their life. Jerry spent 26 years in the United States Army and retired CW3. Worked as the head of maintenance at Webster University, later taking a career as an Over the Road Truck Driver with Hogan Transports, where he finally retired. Jerry was a member of St. Lukes United Methodist Church. Jerry's heart was large as he was in life, when he married Jeanna he also inherited her four children. He was a stern father figure but was fair, he worked hard to provide for both Jeanna and her children. During their marriage they took many trips, and it was a family joke, that when one travels, the whole family travels. Jerry fought hard the last years of his life, with Jeanna by his side, she drove him to and from multiple doctor's appointments, sat beside him with multiple hospitalizations. They never gave up hope, their motto "we're in this together". Jeanna's children, supported their decision, were there in times of joy and sadness, each taking turns and being the shoulder to cry on. At a point, together as a family, the decision was made that Jerry had fought all that he could, and as a family they were there to help Jerry make his final decision, and as a family they were there for his final hours. he was surrounded by love when he made his final journey home. Jerry will be missed, by all, his wife, family and friends.
