Ramona Joyce Wiersma

Ramona Wiersma was born on October 16, 1937 in Bellflower, CA to Richard and Christine Develder, the first of three children. She grew up there, attending Bellflower Christian School. This is where she met her husband to be, Willy Wiersma in the second grade.

Willy and Monie married September 28th 1955 and made their first home, milking cows on their family farm in Artisia, CA. After having three boys, Bart, Greg, and Don, in 1961 they moved to Arlington, WA. Eight years later Willy, then Rich are born. The family farmed for 33 years in Cicero, WA.

Mona’s passions were her family, bible studies and Cascade Christian Reformed Church. She loved to garden and was always working on a new oil painting. Ramona always started her day with a full pot of boiled coffee.

Mona passed from this life into the presence of Jesus on September 29, 2023 at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wiersma. She is survived by sons, Bart (Tammy) Wiersma, Greg (Nanci) Wiersma, Don (Connie) Wiersma, Willy Wiersma, Rich (Kim) Wiersma, twenty grandchildren, and twenty-six great-grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service for friends and family, October 14th at 1:00 at the Arlington Cemetery. A funeral reception will follow at:
