Marilyn (Spoerhase) Hoggarth passed away on August 10th, 2022 and is now present with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A long time member of the Arlington Free Methodist Church, she served it well and looked forward to helping as needed in many capacities.
Marilyn was born on June 18, 1956, living on the family farm for most of her life. As a fourth generation resident of the Spoerhase homestead, she was raised to appreciate county living and devoted many hours trying to protect that way of life in the community.
Her education consisted of a Journalism/Communications degree from the University of Washington, followed by a Business Law masters degree through City College. Those helped her in a career at GTE/Verizon telecommunications, where she loved the opportunities of the job and the people she got to know there, many of which becoming her good friends. After retirement, Marilyn unfortunately came down with a rare form of Alzheimer's called PCA (Posterior Cortical Atrophy) which affected her eyesight as well as her memory. After 11 years, her battle was lost, but was able to stay at home through the whole ordeal with the help of her husband of 32 years, Jack and her son, Trent and Kirsten. Her mom, Margaret, at the age of 96 passed away almost two years ago. She also leaves behind her mother-in-law, Helen, as well as Family members, Loren and Pat Kraetz, Betty Blacken, Ed Sharp, the Broderson's, John and Connie Avram, Steve and Linda Hoggarth, Mike and Karen Hoggarth, and their families.
We would like to also thank and mention Celia and D'Arcy from Evergreen Hospice for their loving care they provided the last few weeks.
A memorial service will be held at Arlington Free Methodist Church, 730 E Highland Dr, Arlington, WA 98223 on October 1, 2022 at 1:00pm.
