In Loving Memory of Kathryn Ruth Schultz
Kathryn Ruth Schultz, age 72, peacefully passed away on August 31st, 2023, in Cary, North Carolina, surrounded by her daughters and sister. She was born in Everett, Washington, on March 14th, 1951, to the late Leo Lewis and Lottie Lewis (Hankins).
Known affectionately as Kathy or Nana, Kathryn's life was a tapestry of humor, unwavering work ethic, and boundless compassion. She was a devoted wife and mother, an ardent traveler, a graceful dancer, and a source of incredible opportunities for her family. Her infectious zest for life inspired everyone fortunate enough to be in her presence, as she led by example, encouraging all to embrace life to its fullest. Her mantra was simple, "I will make you laugh, even if it is at me."
Kathryn believed that dancing was best done together, and she often insisted, sometimes with gentle insistence, that others join her on the dance floor. With her beloved husband, Ronald Schultz (deceased), she built several successful companies that allowed them to touch the lives of countless others. Generosity flowed through her veins, defining her character.
Her life's journey took her from humble beginnings to remarkable achievements, including witnessing the beauty of the Seven Wonders of the World and dancing on nearly every continent, with Africa being the only exception, as she humorously noted, "I do not care to be eaten by a lion."
In her final moments, Kathryn shared that her greatest accomplishment was supporting and witnessing her children achieve their dreams and goals. Now, she is reunited with her beloved husband, Ronald Gene Schultz, dancing together in the heavens.
Kathryn leaves behind a legacy cherished by her four children: Heidi Hallgren (Jeramie), Hilary Schultz, Ronald Gene Schultz II (Virginia), and Lynnette Korfanta. She is also survived by her siblings, Donna Lewis and Jerry Lewis, and her grandchildren: Jordan Hallgren, LilyAnna Hallgren, the late Peyton Hallgren, Natalie Muir, Stephanie Reilly, Tina Johnson, Jamie Crow, Joshua Korfanta, Albert Ronald Schultz, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Lottie Lewis, her brothers David Lewis, William Lewis, John Lewis, and her daughter, Prudence Schultz.
Funeral services will be held on Sept 16th, at 11:00 a.m., at Weller Funeral Home, 327 N MacLeod Ave, Arlington, WA 98223, followed by interment at Arlington Cemetery, with a reception to follow at the Schultz Residence.
Nana has requested that all flowers sent in her memory will adorn “Baby Land” at Arlington Cemetery following memorial services.
Kathryn's light will continue to shine in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
