Vicki Darlene Willard

Vicki Darlene Willard, was a devoted wife, mother, GRANDmother, sister and friend. She left this world for her eternal rest on November 10, 2022. She was born October 28, 1950 to the late James W. and Margaret D. Edlin in Louisville, KY. She spent her youth traveling with her family, which gave her a lifelong wanderlust that she passed on to her own children and grandchildren. She was married to the late Glen Eric Willard, for 20 years before his passing in January 1987. Her final wish was to be reunited with the greatest love of her life and she will be buried with him, in Arlington National Cemetery March 6, 2023. She is survived by her children, April (Dwayne) Ayers of Columbia, SC and Eric Glen Willard of Louisville, KY and her sister, Brenda L. Rollins, of Cape Coral, FL.; her grandchildren Zachory Willard (Christina), Allyson Raines (Chris), Danielle Thames (Kyle), Great-great grandchildren Abbigail and Cameron Raines, Kolton and Lennox Thames, and Charlotte and Liam Willard; And her bonus family, Jackie, Steve, Dianna and Kristina Holzknecht. She also left behind many close friends, cousins, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson Matthew S. Willard. Vicki was an adventurer with a love of spontaneity. Her travels were varied by car, RV, bus or boat. She was just as happy at a primitive campsite at Dale Hollow Lake as in a luxury stateroom of a grand hotel, especially if surrounded by her family and friends. A Celebration of Life memorial gathering will be held in Louisville at a future date to be announced. She always dreamed of writing a book of her life’s more interesting events.
