Ron was born in Bowling Green, KY on July 28, 1947. He grew up in the Crescent Hill section of Louisville, KY, where his family were active members of the Crescent Hill Baptist Church. Ron graduated from Atherton High School, where he was later inducted into the Atherton Hall of Fame.
After receiving his undergraduate degree from Carson-Newman University, Ron graduated from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville, which has recognized him as a distinguished alumnus. He was an avid fan of Louisville Cardinal athletics, attending many basketball and football games, as well as watching the women’s basketball and volleyball teams win many games.
Ron was recognized as a leading labor lawyer and authority on labor law during his illustrious legal career in Washington, DC. He served as General Counsel of the National Labor Relations Board after serving as a Board Member of the NLRB. While General Counsel, he made it a point to visit as many NLRB offices as possible, and spoke at numerous conferences nationwide. Ron joined the Proskauer Rose law firm after his term at the NLRB concluded.

Ron lived his life to the fullest, and appreciated every moment, person, and experience. He most loved spending time with his family, either in Lexington, KY or at the beach in Delaware. He also enjoyed poker nights and golfing with his friends. Ron recently became a grandfather, a role that he adored beyond measure. We will remember Ron for his vibrancy, kindness, uncanny ability to find a great parking spot, and unmatched sense of humor.
