Norman Gershon Greenberg

Norman Gershon Greenberg passed away peacefully on November 28, 2019 in Arlington, VA. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, on January 2, 1925, he was one of two sons of Leon and Fannie Lappen Greenberg. His brother Marvin Emanuel predeceased him on October 30, 2013. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, Norman graduated from the State University of Iowa with a degree in mathematics, concentrating on actuarial science. As an actuary Norman came to the Washington area to work at the Pentagon, and later transferred to the Internal Revenue Service, retiring in 2005. Survivors include Nancy Mullikin Greenberg, his wife of 51 years; a niece, Jordana Greenberg Catone, of Nashville, Tennessee; and two great nieces, Dana and Stefanie Catone, of Los Angeles, California. Inurnment and a memorial service will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice.
