Joyce Robinson of Falls Church, VA, the beloved wife of Harry Robinson, died peacefully, April 30, 2014 surrounded by her family. Joyce was born on March 26, 1927, the daughter of Lawrence and Iva Sturm in Richmond, Indiana. Shortly after she moved to Washington, DC, she met her husband Easter Sunday at the Lincoln Memorial while admiring the cherry blossoms. They were married for 66 years.
She was the loving mother of Steven Robinson and wife Susan of Virginia, Cheryl Alexander and husband James of Virginia and Susan Kehoe and husband Timothy of Massachusetts. She was also mother-in-law to Nancy Robinson of Virginia. Joyce is also survived by six grandchildren, Brandon Robinson, Colby Robinson, Beau Robinson, Evan Robinson, Rachel Alexander and Jamie Alexander.
Mrs. Robinson had a steadfast faith in God. She was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Arlington, Virginia for over 50 years and cherished the Christian fellowship. She was the heart and soul of her family, always there to offer encouragement, love and support. A loyal and devoted friend, she helped others feel their strength.
Her graceful and charming demeanor captured the hearts of all she met, and her sweet smile was just one of her endearing qualities. Her family and friends will remember her good humor, kind heart and quality of character.
The funeral service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church on Monday, May 5 at 11 a.m. A reception will be held after service in the Parish Hall of the church and all are welcome. Internment private. The family will greet friends at Murphy's Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA on Sunday, May 4 from 2 to 4 p.m.
