Donald Gray Edwards, 79, residing in Arlington VA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on December 26, 2023.
Partner to his long time love, L. Amanda Cottle; father to son, Brian (Rachelle) Edwards; grandfather of Sydney and Jackson Edwards; brother of Charles (Peggy) Edwards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion W. Edwards, and M. Elizabeth Edwards and his sister, Barbara Edwards.
Donald was a brilliant man. In 1962, he began his active service in the United States Army. After six years of serving, Sergeant Donald G. Edwards was honorably discharged in 1968. After the military, he went on to receive his degrees; Bachelor Degree from University of Texas in Arlington and Masters Degree at Southern Methodist University. He continued on with his career as an Economist for the United States Treasury Department.
Most of all, Don loved his family. He was a devoted partner, dedicated father, and the proudest “Paw.”
There will be a memorial service in the future to honor and remember our beloved Donald at Arlington National Cemetery.
