Walter A. Winburn, 70, of Alvarado, Texas, passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018 at his home. Mr. Winburn was born on January 4, 1948 in Washington, DC, the son of Spencer Carroll and Edna Mae (Atkins) Winburn.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Winburn of Alvarado, Texas; two daughters, Leigh Ann (husband, Jonathan) Ward, and Michelle (husband, David) Steele; one son, Steven (wife, Mari) Winburn; five grandchildren, Heath Ward, Twins, Kamryn and Kellan Winburn, Aiden Steele, and Adelyn Steele.
Mr. Winburn is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, James Winburn.
He served his Country in The United States Air Force for six years, as a Staff Sergeant. During his distinguished military career, Mr. Winburn received several awards including, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship, Nuclear Weapons Specialist Award 46350, AFSC 46010 – Primary, Control AFSC 46330, and had Top Secret/BI Security Clearance.
He loved working on his 1962 Oldsmobile. He also enjoyed trivia, history, playing cards, travel, talk radio, tennis, music, dancing, bowling, and puzzles.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76012. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
