One of 11 children, Valentina grew up in a beautiful small town of Mazapil Mexico. Although her schooling was limited Valentina learned much about the basics of life hands on. She was able to sew anything from a dress to a suit or even a wedding dress. She would spend hours cross stitching and crocheting her own creations from a tablecloth to a bedspread. Her hands included a green thumb.Every year Valentina would have a vegetable garden where she would grow the ingredients she would need to create wonderful meals for her family. She was known for her tamales, but her passion for cooking was displayed by how she took her time to simmer the deliciousness into her recipes and sauces.
As the mother of 5 children, Valentina became a widow when her youngest child was 3. Although times were difficult, taking care of her family was her love. She was one of a kind and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Valentina was preceded in death by her husband, 8 brothers and sisters and her two sons, Jesus Rodriguez and Sixto Rodriguez.
She is survived by 3 children, Guadalupe Rodriguez, Mayra Strub and Maria Barragan; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter; 2 sisters, Maria del Rosario Nunez and Julia Nunez; many other family and friends.
