Thomas Kennedy McCullen, 77, of Saint Petersburg, FL, born November 14, 1943, encountered an unhandled exception in his core operating system, which prematurely triggered a critical STOP condition on Thursday, July 1, 2021.
Tom was an avid technophile, program developer, and reader, whose master functions were harnessed by NASA, Radioshack, Microsoft Corp. among others as a technical evangelist.
Some of Tom’s most impactful component subroutines centered around veracious reading (this is an understatement of the truth), classic movies, building every computer desk he ever had, and spending time with family.
Tom’s tender and loving wife Judy McCullen proceeded him in death. Tom is survived in legacy by his wife, Vicki Colbert; his children, Thomas McCullen II, Holly Polson and Kathy Slattery; his sister, Patty Compton; his grandchildren, Quinn, Liam, Kiera and a host of loving in-laws, and longtime friends from around the world.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.moore-funeralhome.com for the McCullen family.
Diagnostics indicated multiple cascading hardware failures as the root problem.
Though his hardware has been decommissioned, Tom’s application has been migrated to the Cloud and has been repurposed to run in a virtual machine on an infinite loop.
