Tammy Trotter Blanton was a native of Arlington, TX. She graduated from both Lamar High School and Sam Houston High School. She attended the University of Texas at Arlington where she was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority.
Tammy devoted her life to teaching for 33 years. She was an amazing educator who had a passion for her work. She was loved by all who came in contact with her. Tammy loved her students like they were her own children. Her greatest joy was fostering the love of learning in the hearts of all of her students.
Tammy had an outgoing personality and she made friends wherever she went. She lived life with fervor. One of her favorite things to do was to dance. She could line dance with the best of them. She also enjoyed gardening, art, photography, and going to concerts.
Whether Tammy was at work or at home, she would always find a reason to dance or tell a joke just to put a smile on someone’s face. Her positivity was infectious. She was a bright light that shone to everyone around her.
One of Tammy’s great joys was her family farm. She had a pure love of the land. There was nothing she loved more than taking trips to Oklahoma for the wheat harvest and to visit her family.
Tammy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
