Russell “Rusty” Thomas Workman of Arlington, TX passed away unexpectedly on May 27, 2023, at the age of 64. Rusty was born on June 20, 1958 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Thomas and Patricia Darby Workman. Rusty was the beloved husband of Jeri LaBomascus Workman, of whom he was married to for 45 years.
Rusty loved the outdoors and camping. He relished his time on the water, whether it was at the pool, fishing on a lake, or relaxing at the beach. He was also a football fanatic, avidly supporting the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers, as long as they weren’t playing each other. He recently began supporting Arlington’s newest XFL team, the Arlington Renegades, and was ecstatic when they won their championship game this past month. Though semi-retired, he spent many years working in the restaurant business as a multi-restaurant owner. Rusty had a passion for rock music and was a trivia master when it came to bands in that genre. He consistently schooled his grandchildren in the finer points of what is now called “classic rock”.
Rusty leaves behind his wife, Jeri, his three girls, Ketti (Chad) Robertson, Kalli (Richard) Wilson and Kara (Jacob) Kaine, along with nine grandchildren, (all of whom affectionately called him Apaw), Kiernan, Zane, Aubrey, Shyann, Justice, Kaiya, Jagger, Briar and Elora: brothers Larry (Linda) and Tim, and sister Patti (Dave).
A celebration of Rusty's life will be held by the family at a later date.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.moorebowenroad.com for the Workman family.
