Bubba Sells, 68, born December 18, 1954, passed away Sunday January 22, 2023 surrounded by his wife of 36 years, and his children.
Bubba was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather.
Bubba Sells had three loves of his life… His wife, His family and friends, and Firefighting.
He was an Arlington Fireman for 33+ years, and served in the Fire Service for a total of 52 years. He began his love of the fire service in 1971 as a fire volunteer with Pantego Fire Department, eventually getting a paid position with Dyersburg Fire Department. in Tennessee. After 2 years he made his way back to Arlington, Texas as a Professional Arlington Fireman, and committed the next 33+ years of his life serving the citizens with Honor and Dignity. In 1989, he begin volunteering with the City of Dalworthington Gardens Fire Department, coming up through the ranks of Lieutenant, Captain, and ending as Deputy Chief until his death.
His love of firefighting ultimately led him to the love of his life Sydney. They met working on EMS calls, which turned into the next 36 years hand in hand together.
Family and Friends were of the utmost importance to him. He would go without to ensure his family and friends were taken care of.
Bubba is preceeded in death by his Mother Bobbye Ashley, Father James Weldon Sells, Brother Joey Jablonka, and Granddaughter Faith Isabelle Parnell.
He is survived by his wife Sydney of Arlington, son Chad Sells of Boerne, daughter Crystal Sells of Arlington, son Jacob Parnell and wife Kelly of Burleson. Brother Jim Sells and wife Cindy of Granger, mother-in-law Glenda Abel of Fort Worth, father-in-law Philip Abel of Yantis, mother-in-law Maryann Lay of Salina, KS, sister-in-law Carolyn Choate and husband Corbin of Fort Worth , and Abi Abel of Austin, Brother-in-law Rob Lay of Southlake,
Grandchildren Gregory Lester, Camrin Langston, Justin Sells, Payton Parnell, and Jackson Parnell.
Nieces and nephews Dalyn Beck, Jim Sells, Jennifer Smith, Stacy Sells, and Mia Lay.
