Perry received his BA from the University of Texas – Austin and pursued his career of financing in public education. He performed audits for the Texas Education Association for many years, later working as the Director of Finance for the Arlington Independent School District, and retired from Grapevine ISD as the Associate Superintendent of Operations. After retirement, Perry enjoyed traveling and even purchased a RV to travel the country. He loved to play racquetball in his younger days, and later developed a love for nature photography and genealogy. He was also active in the Overture Highlands Community and was affectionately known to many there as “The Mayor”.
Perry is survived by his sons Chad Cox and Reese Cox; grandchildren Brandy Brown and husband Tony, Amanda Cox, Sarah Maina and husband Elvin, and Jared Cox; great-grandchildren Camden Brown, Ellie Brown, Eden Brown, Tauriel Sheinin, Jamison Bullard, and Willow Maina. Perry was preceded in death by his parents, first wife and mother of his children Edna May Cox, and sister Yvonne Daniels.
