"Penny" Clarice LaVeda Knowles

Penny was born 12/31/1921 in Denton County to Thomas Walter Lidster and Jennie Pearl Fisher. She lived her early years in Vernon, Texas and graduated from Vernon High School. She married Olen Truett Knowles 12/23/1942 in Grand Prairie, Texas. Together they raised 4 children then disciplined and spoiled 8 grandchildren. “Penny” and “Pappy” Knowles celebrated 57 years of marriage before his death in 2001.

Penny and family lived in Dalworthington Gardens from 1950 until her death. She was a homemaker, gardner, and loved fishing. Penny opened her home to relatives, friends and many animals. She was loved and respected by many friends and neighbors.

Penny was preceded in death by parents, 4 brothers, 5 sisters and 1 grandson.
