Patsy Ross Smith Bost

Patsy Ross Smith Bost - more commonly known by the family as Grannyma - was born in Riesel, Texas on November 27 1931 to Bessie Gertrude Smith and Thomas Henry Smith. Her father Tom already had 4 sons and one daughter. His first wife died in child birth and he eventually married Miss Bessie who was quite the spinster at the time. She was after all 23 years old. It was Riesel and it was 1924. Grandma Bessie had Edith Louise Smith on 27 November 1927 so the girls shared the same birthday all of Pat’s life. Her father was a long time employee of Steakly Chevrolet in Waco and had 325 acres in Riesel that he farmed. Her mother was busy with 7 kids – job enough. Pat and Aunt Edith spent all their school days in Riesel where Pat Captained the Cheer Squad and the Volleyball Team and would for sure want it mentioned today that she was class favorite and Homecoming Queen. At 17 Pat married Raymond Stanley Bost and 5 years later they started their family. Steve, Stan, Lisa, and Tom. They owned and operated 2 restaurants in Mexia Texas in the early years. Then moved to Lubbock and Levelland to follow the cotton ginning and compress business. Later they moved to San Benito, Texas when Raymond took another job with Allis Chalmers tractors. Eventually they moved to Arlington In the early 70’s and made their home here. Pat was a cook. And a meticulous housekeeper. She loved her church and working in her yard. She loved being involved as a leader with BSF, her friends, and being around her family. Her husband of 64 years, Raymond, passed away in November 2013. And 5 years ago, she moved out of her home of 46 years to live with her daughter and son in law in Dalworthington Gardens. She is preceded in death by her parents Bessie and Tom, her brothers and sisters George, Wesley, Attress, Monroe, Hattie Mae, and Edith. Her son Tom Bost and her granddaughters MacLean and Mackenzie. She is survived by her sons Steve and wife Sharon, Stan and wife Linda, daughter Lisa and her husband Tank and Daughter-In-Law Keila Bost. Her grandchildren Shawn Magee, Kim Sissen, Aaron Bost, Trent Bost, Kristin Marshall, Steve Jennett, Andy Jennett, Danny Jennett, Jmac Richardson, Jesse Ogden, Jamie Eddins, Taylor Bost, and Derian Bost. And pretty much a million great grandchildren. Pallbearers: Stan Bost, Derian Bost, Jmac Richardson, Steve Jennett, Andy Jennett, Danny Jennett and Scott Hamilton; Honorary Pallbearers: Cole Sumner, Lockie Bleu Richardson and Xander Jennett

A visitation for Patsy will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Dr, Arlington, TX. Funeral: Friday, June 7, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Lamar Baptist Church, 1000 W. Lamar Blvd, Arlington, TX. A committal service to follow at Moore Memorial Gardens.
