Nita was always a happy person with a smile on her face.  She was always willing to take care of what needed to be done -volunteering a lot! We had fun together with the weekend backpack program for the elementary students.

Friends are God’s way of showing us what love is all about.  She was a wonderful friend.       

Nita certainly had a huge impact on my life, as well as thousands of others. I did my student teaching with her in 1976 at Little Elementary. I learned more from her in 6 weeks than I had learned in four years of college. What a blessing she was to me! I taught for 34 years, and thought of her often.

You was their Aunt Nita.I remember when we studied with the students in the personal work school at Randall Mills church. We worked on the Joy buses together and  taught bunches of kids. Always helping others with a cheerful heart!

Today (08-17-2019), I got to visit with ONE of the most precious ladies in my life. She is in an alzheimer's unit here in Texas. She didn't know my face, but she knew my name when I said it. We sat and talked about a lot of things I remembered from my past that involved her. She was so grateful that I brought her those memories. She may not have remembered them after I had left, but for the time I was there, it made her smile and laugh to remember. 

This precious lady is a Christian and has been longer than I've known her (50 plus years). She's in her mid-70s now, and God has blessed her exponentially. 

She was a 6th grade teacher for 40 years. She taught Bible class, went on campaign for Christ, did Bible studies, did volunteer work at various places, blessed many people throughout her life with assistance of varying kinds, and has been a mentor to me since I was a little girl! 

I call her "Aunt", but she is not related to me. We adopted her as our Aunt when I was quite young because I kept insisting on calling her by her first name. Little kids weren't allowed to call adults by their first name back then, not even with a title before it, such as "Miss, Mrs., etc." We were only allowed to call them Mr., Mrs., Miss, Ms. and whatever their last name was unless they were related. That is why we adopted her making her our Aunt. I love her so very much! I could've stayed with her all day!

That visit was precious to me. It was the last time I got to see and talk with her! I will treasure all the memories I have and shared with her! She was instrumental in helping me learn how to speak softer when I am excited. She helped me obtain my AA in HUMAN SERVICES MANAGEMENT by giving me the money for a computer and printer to a online school! I have do many memories! I loved our time together as I grew up. Rest in Paradise my beautiful and sweet Aunt! I love you and will miss you tremendously!
