Mickey Nevil was born February 26, 1925 in Trimble, Tennessee and passed away on April 16, 2024 at 99 years of age. She was the middle child of the three daughters born to James Ruben and Leona Botts Nevil. Mickey was preceded in death by her husband, William Joseph “Joe” Horner. After Joe’s death, she married Jim Mullins of Fort Worth, Texas and was once again widowed. She was also predeceased by her sister, Ruby Nevil Covington, of Cross Plains, Tennessee.
After graduating high school, Mickey worked for Western Union where she met Joe and moved to Texas when they married. She retired from her job at Texas Instruments after 27 years with that company. Away from work, Mickey did volunteer work for the City of Arlington Visitors Center and was a Girl Scout troop leader.
Mickey is survived by daughters Michelle Horner Stinson and Elaine Horner Duncan, both of Arlington, TX, and step-daughter Jonelle Horner Meredith of McKinney, TX. She is also survived by her loving sister, Mary Nevil Clymer of Fulton, Kentucky. She was affectionately known as “Mimi” to her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service is scheduled for Mickey at 10:00 am on Monday April 22nd, 2024, at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 North Davis Drive Arlington, Texas 76012
