Michael was born on January 21st 1959 in Tecumseh, MI . He graduated from Leavenworth High School, Leavenworth, KS in 1977 when he immediately joined the U.S Army in 1978.
He married Roberta “Janey” Dye on August 31, 1982; in a simple unassuming ceremony. He was a devoted husband and father raising a son and 3 daughters while maintaining a successful career as an Engineering Project Manager in the Telecommunication industry.
In 2002, he retired from this career and revisited his lifelong dream of adventure to set out for the open world in a quest to see the world; mile-by-mile driving an 18-wheeler for Schneider International.
Michael was an honored veteran, which is likely where his passion for adventure began; serving in the U.S. Army from 1978-1982. He often spoke of his travels around the world, spending a good bit of his deployment in Korea.
Even when facing his untimely end, Michael was able to exhibit his true character against all odds to ensure the safety of those around him. He was a hero and will be forever in our hearts.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to those who tried tirelessly to keep him here and to those who contributed to ensure a respectful lay to rest.
