Mary Dorothy Rouse

As she was known to family and friends, Dot was born March 27, 1939, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, to Turley Fontenot and Cammie Chapman Fontenot.

Dot married Larry Rouse on November 13, 1967, in San Diego, California, and was the beloved mother to seven children, Dempsey, Janet, Cindy, Turley, Bill, Penny, and Scott. Dot was a longtime and active member of Saint Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Arlington, Texas. Dot participated in the Women's Guild, a community outreach group, taught bible study classes, and served as the church bookkeeper.

Her husband, Larry Rouse; her parents, siblings, Russell Fontenot and Ruby Fontenot Seidel; one son, Turley R. Rouse; grandsons, Brandon Rouse and Paul Rouse, predeceased her.

Surviving her are her six children, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Moore Funeral Home will host a memorial and prayer service on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 3:00 PM in Arlington, Texas. Internment with her husband, Larry, will follow later at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. The family asks that, in place of flowers, consider donating to the Alzheimer's Association's important work in providing Alzheimer's care and support or the Disabled Veteran National Foundation.
