Mary "Helen" Murff

Graveside service: 11 a.m. Friday in Rice Cemetery in Rice. A memorial service will follow the graveside service at 3:30 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis, Arlington. Visitation: The family will greet friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis St., Arlington.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meadow Lane Baptist Church, 1901 Meadow Lane, Arlington, Texas 76010.

Helen was born Feb. 13, 1927. She grew up in East Texas in the community of Argo. She moved to Arlington in 1955 and was a longtime member of Meadow Lane Baptist Church. She retired from the Arlington Independent School District where she was a librarian. Helen previously worked for Ennis Telephone Company and Ennis Business Forms where she met her husband, Lorin.

Helen was known for her sense of humor and the joy she brought with her in all her endeavors. Her grandchildren called her Nana, and her great-grandchildren Grana. She traveled to Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii with her children and enjoyed exploring with them. Her friends knew her generosity and commitment to church and family. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Helen was preceded in promotion to heaven by her husband, Lorin Wesley Murff; her parents, Mae and Gaston Rainey; brother, Grady Rainey; sisters, Lillian Wilhite and Johnnie Sellers.

Survivors: Her daughter, Gloria Frazier and husband, Ed, of Arlington; son, Rick Murff and wife, Jenny, of Phoenix, Ariz., and her children, Kyle, Cody and Katy Keels; five grandchildren, Kindel and husband, Matt Coren, of Arlington, Erick and wife, Brooke Frazier, of Denver, Colo., Kyle and wife, Jennifer Frazier, of Austin, Justin and wife, Jennifer Murff, of Virginia Beach, Va., Stuart and wife, Catherine Frazier, of Austin; and five great-grandchildren, Alex, Bella, Sierra, Anya and Sophia. She loved her extended family, Dundi and Tom Thompson, Clayton and Cindy McKinnis, Justin and Courtney McKinnis Frazier, Levi and Ashlea McKinnis and their children, Allison, Holly, William, Daniel, Matthew and Micah. What a legacy she leaves behind.
