Mary grew up in Lefors, Texas. She moved to Lubbock after graduating high school to attend business school. She met her husband, Donald, who was attending flight school there. They had two children, Donna and Terry. She worked as an administrative assistant at General Dynamics in Fort Worth for several years before they moved to the Denver, Colorado area. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Denver. There she worked as an insurance coordinator for Johns-Manville Corporation until she retired in 1989. After her husband died that same year, she moved to Arlington to be close to her son.
She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ where she volunteered in the office for many years. She loved to stay busy and to do what she could to help others. She also volunteered at the Arlington Police Department, the Grand Prairie Police Department, Hearts and Hands (an all-volunteer cooperative ministry of the Arlington Churches of Christ), and the Medical Center of Arlington. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, and walking with her dog.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, her daughter Donna Wynne, her brothers Ralph Ogden Jr. and Joe Ogden, and her beloved German Shepherd, Jessie.
Survivors: Son, Terry Martin and his wife Valri; her sister, Mary Joyce Crooks-Hughes and her husband Lovel; grandchildren Troy Wynne and his wife Lisa, Martin Wynne, Jarod Martin and his wife Lisa, Lauren Martin, Trisha O’Connor, and Meghan O’Connor. She had six great-grandchildren.
