Mrs. Sears was born and raised in Tyler, TX. She joined the order of the School Sisters of Notre Dame and served as an educator from 1952 to the late 1970’s. She received her M.Ed in Secondary Education from Our Lady of the Lake College in San Antonio, TX in 1965 and a M.S. in Library Science from LSU, Baton Rouge. LA in 1971. She served as a teacher and librarian in parochial elementary and secondary schools and was a public librarian in Dallas until 1977. She also completed a 22 year teaching career with Dallas ISD retiring in 2010 from Harry Stone Montessori Academy as the school’s librarian. She was a covenant member of The Christian Community of God’s Delight of Dallas and a past member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Duncanville, TX and St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Mansfield, TX
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph K. and Mary Korkmas of Tyler , TX, her twin sister, Christine K. Lee of Arlington, TX, her brother, Joseph K. Korkmas, Jr of Wylie, TX and her husband, Guy Sears of Midlothian, TX.
She is survived by her brother, George F. Korkmas and sister-in-law Theresa Korkmas of Alvin, TX, sister-in-law Judy Korkmas of Wylie, TX and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Her family thanks the caring, loving staff of St. Joseph’s Haven of Arlington, TX , Brookdale Pecan Park Assisted Living in Arlington, TX and Brookdale Hospice Service for their professionalism and kindness to her in her final months and days.

A visitation, rosary and reception will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N Davis Dr. Arlington, TX 76012, followed by Mass at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2100 N Davis Dr, Arlington, TX 76012, on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 11:00 am. Interment will then be held at 3:00pm at Tyler Memorial Center, 12053 State Hwy 64 W Tyler, TX 75704.
