Louis (L.T.) was the second of four children: born to Louis Sr & Ira B West Black in Kilbourne, LA. He confessed his faith in Jesus Christ during an early age, at Bloomy Shade Baptist Church, Kilbourne.
L.T. attended Eastside Elementary School in Eudora, AR until the fall of 1956. His father, Louis Black Sr accepted a Teaching position in Helena, AR; where Louis graduated from Eliza Miller High School, in 1966.
Louis attended Cleveland State University, in Cleveland, Ohio, where he Majored in Engineering. Two years later, he was drafted into the Navy. Louis served the United States Navy, as Special Forces & was Honorably Discharged.
Louis married Burdean (Taylor) Black on December 29th, 1972. To this union was a blessing of two children: Shawana & Louis III. Louis also has two older children Rosalyn and the late Chris. L.T. was a loving husband and father who wanted his family to have the best of all things.
In 1973, he and his wife moved to Chicago, IL where he worked for several years as a railroad conductor and yard supervisor. While in Chicago, Louis attended Kennedy King College. For a while he and family moved back to Little Rock, AR. While in Little Rock he worked for Arkansas Power and Light.
In 1987, Louis relocated with his Family to Milwaukee, WI. He worked with the City of Milwaukee for 30 plus years. Louis retired in 2012, as City of Milwaukee Manager.
Louis was ordained as a Deacon under Pastor Rev Issac Hopgood at Shiloh Baptist Church. He was a faithful deacon, Sunday school teacher and Director of the Male Choir for many years.
Louis later joined Zion Rock Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev Julius Jasper. Louis continued to be a faithful Deacon, teacher, and choir member. While at Zion Rock, he was elected as the President of the District Layman for the General Baptist State Convention of Wisconsin. He served well until his health concerns.
Louis was a BIG personality. He never met a stranger! He was always generous with his time, finances, love & laughter.
L.T. began his new life with the Lord on Sunday, September 12, 2021. He leaves to cherish his memories: Wife Burdean Black, Four Children: Rosalyn (Greg) Lemons, (Late) Chris Young Black Sr, Shawana Black, & Louis (Micaela) Black III.
Three Sisters: Rodesia (Black) Evans, Rubye (Black) Johnson, & Doris (Black) Murchison.
Granddaughters: Lucke’ L. Holman - Webb & Cadence Webb
Grandsons: Greg Lemons Jr, Chris Young Black Jr
Great Granddaughter: Khelani Lemons
Nephews/Nieces: Kenneth (Kenya) Evans, Kelvin (Pa Shoua) Evans, Jennifer (Ray) Robins, Tondra (Maurice) Hill, Karla (Demetrius) Davis, Markell Evans, Ryan Robins, Jessica Robins, Asher Evans, Laila Davis, Ava Naomi Evans, Antwain Gooding, JaDonna (Ronnie) Hall, LaTina Gooding, Desmond (Latrice) Gooding, Shekila Elliott, (Late) Tameka Nesby, Seretha (Andre) McField, Adrial (Johnnie) Blount, Stacy (Melissa) Taylor & Jessica Taylor. The Black, Evans, West, and Taylor families and a host of relatives and friends who will miss him.
