Leon Edward Wallace, Jr. went to his heavenly home on December 15th, 2023. Leon Jr. was born on July 29th, 1974 in Dallas, Texas to parents Leon Sr. and Anita as he was an unexpected birthday gift to his mother coming into the world on her birthday.
Growing up, Leon Jr. displayed many athletic talents, which were gifted from his parents, as he excelled in sports at Euless Trinity High School. He was a two-sport star in basketball and football. Leon Jr. accumulated many accolades during his high school athletic career culminating by earning All-American honors in football his senior year. Leon Jr. took his athletic talents to the University of Notre Dame where he was a member of the football team and he was a three-year letterman.
After his collegiate football career concluded and he graduated from college, Leon worked in property management where he managed several building and facilities. His work took him to many cities throughout the United States but, eventually, Leon Jr. settled back to his roots in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. As Leon was settling back in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area he married Atira Taylor in 2005. This marriage brought forth his children: Suraii, Leon Edward III “Trey” and Ari.
Leon Jr. was always passionate about football, especially college football and Notre Dame, cooking as he always compared cooking recipes and techniques with his brother, and his children. In recent years, his spiritual growth with Jesus Christ was a huge priority as evident in the Sunday Bible message he shared via text with many of us. Additionally, reconnecting & rekindling relationships with former teammates, family and friends was also extremely important to him as well.
Leon Jr. was preceded in death by his father, Leon Sr. Leon Jr. is survived by his children: Suraii, Leon Edward III “Trey” & Ari; his mother Anita, his sisters Netyka & Vanessa, his brother Robert, his nephew Robert Gene, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
