Leo was born in Fitchburg Massachusetts on March 22, 1926. He was 97 years old.
He was truly an example of the greatest generation, having served his country during WW2, as an Army Ranger 5th Battalion. They received the Congressional Gold Medal in 2022.
Coming home from service, he met the love of his life, Vivian. They were married in 1947. She proceeded him in death Oct. 31st, 2020.
Leo worked many jobs providing for his 6 children, but the one he loved the most was working for Tucker Housewares. He retired as Plant Manager, after 33 years there, with many accolades.
Leo loved sports and was an active member of the Optimist Club here in Arlington and coached the Tucker Tigers for several years.
He retired to Florida in 1995, a huge golf enthusiast, he lived in The Villages, Florida until 2021, and played every week. Lots of holes in one, and a few trophies later, he moved back to Arlington, to spend time with his daughter and her family in 2021.
The father of 6 children, grandfather to 8, great-grandfather to 16 and great-great-grandfather to one. He is proceeded in death by his dear wife Vivian, his only brother, Edward, his sister, Margaret, his son Steven, his daughter Janis, and his son James, as well as his grandson Gage David Petit, and his great-great-grandson Jaxon Gage Hardesty.
He is survived by his daughter Margaret Petit, of Leesburg Fl, his daughter Debra Alvarado of Arlington, Texas, and his son David Petit and his wife Sondra of The Villages, FL. And many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Vivian Loiselle Petit of Lady Lake Florida passed October 31, 2020, at home with loving care.
Born June 20th, 1929 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts
Wife to Leo H Petit for 74 years, mother to 6 children, grandmother to 8, great-grandmother to 16, and one great-great grandson.
Vivian was a loving homemaker and caretaker of the family. She enjoyed golfing with her husband and crafting her in the Villages for many years.
She is survived by her husband Leo Henry Petit of Lady Lake, Florida her daughters Margaret Elaine Petit of Leesburg, Florida, Debra Petit Alvarado of Lady Lake, Florida and her son David Edward Petit and his wife Sondra, of Lady Lake Florida.
She is proceeded in death by her mother Ruby Cummings Loiselle, her father Leon Hector Loiselle, her son Steven Leo Petit, daughter Janice Petit Morales, son James Gregory Petit, her sisters Elaine Antony and Loraine Stella, her brothers Paul, Richard and Lionel Loiselle, as well as her grandson Gage David Petit and her great-great Grandson Jaxon Gage Hardesty.
