Larry Moore, 57, of Arlington, Texas passed away on May 27, 2024. He was born in Gary, Indiana on July 5, 1966. Larry graduated from Lew Wallace High School class of 1984 and received a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in 1989. Larry married Evora “Niecy” Moore on August 21, 1987 during their junior year of college. They were married for 36 years.
Larry was a valued employee at many different companies over the years, in human resources. He worked hard to always find a win-win situation and strived to make the working experience as enjoyable as possible for his employees. He took pride in arranging various competitions and events and expressing the value of every employee.
When Niecy started studying the bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1992, Larry was initially skeptical. He actively looked for information to dispute what she was learning. But after some time, seeing the positive changes in his family and sitting in on studies and meetings himself, he decided to have his own bible study. The bible’s message touched his heart and he dedicated his life and was baptized in 2002. He served as an elder for over a decade in Valparaiso, McKinney South, and West Grand Prairie congregations. He loved to teach others about the bible and provide support to the congregation.
Larry was a born entertainer and always found opportunities to make people laugh and smile. People who heard his talks at Christian meetings remarked that he made the points memorable and they were encouraged and entertained. He had a lifelong love of singing and was known to harmonize with every song he heard. Larry was out on the dance floor at every event; his favorites were stepping and line dancing. He loved to play cards, especially Bid Whist. His competitive nature meant that he took every game seriously. While he would never describe himself as athletic he enjoyed watching sports, playing volleyball, and roller skating. Larry enjoyed spending hot Texas days floating with his family in the pool.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Willie Mae Manuel and Samuel J. Moore and sisters Jessie Fraiser and Willie Bolden. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Evora “Niecy” Moore; children Lauren Moore, Logan (Charise) Moore, and Lindsey Moore; grandchildren Micah and Macey Moore; siblings Chester (Camile) Moore, Annie Moore, Lena (Ken) Woodfork, Louvenia (Wendell) Harris, Geraldine (Ron) May, Padean Robinson, Archie Brown, Lonnie Brown, and Anthony Brown; nieces and nephews Erika Underwood, Camerin Moore, Dana (Quentin)Hunter, Desireé (Avian) Hughes and many other beloved nieces, and nephews, relatives, and friends.
Services for Larry will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Arlington, Texas on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 1:00pm. Please express your fond memories, photos, and condolences by visiting www.moore-funeralhome.com.
