Juanita was born in Wayne County, MI on March 16, 1930 to Benjamin and Alice Raymo. She married William Elston Barton on June 19, 1948. Bill and Juanita lived and raised their family in the Port Huron area before moving to Melbourne, FL in 1985. Prior to leaving Michigan, Juanita had been employed at the JCPenney department store in downtown Port Huron for 20 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William E. Barton, her parents Benjamin and Alice Raymo, her brothers, Roy, Kenneth and Ben Raymo and her sister, Betty Butters. As an avid lover of both exotic birds and the Sheltie breed of dogs, her house was always full of some very lucky animals, most recently her beloved Taffy.
Juanita is survived by her beloved fiancé, Thomas Potter, her sister Rebecca Hurren, her sons John William (Dennise) Barton of Fort Gratiot, MI and Craig A. (Pamela) Barton, Arlington, TX.; five grandsons Paul William (Yvonne) of Mansfield TX and Andrew Robert (Julie) Barton of Crowley TX, John Howard (Sara) Barton of New Haven, IN.; Todd Cyril (Kara) Barton of Freeport, ME and Sean Christopher Barton of Seattle, WA; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She had lived in Arlington TX since 2004. Her remains will be interred @ Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge FL.
A Mass of remembrance for family and friends is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 11 at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, 500 E. Dallas St. Mansfield TX 76063. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
