Jose Vila Ramos

On Friday, February 19, 2021, Jose Vila Ramos departed his earthly life to become another angel in heaven at the age of 75. He was born in San Fabian, Pangasinan, Philippines. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in accounting at University of the East in Manila, Philippines. In 1977, he met the love of his life, Leonila Millan. They raised a daughter, Jonilyn Brigida Millan Ramos, and a son, Richard Benedict Millan Ramos.

Family and friends will remember Jose for his kindness, patience and is best known for his sense of humor, often playing practical jokes on his family. When Leonila would ask him for something, he would say he forgot and then start laughing. His humor was passed on to his two children. Once, Jose tried to repeatedly kill a rubber spider, planted by Jonilyn, with a broom. Richard almost gave Leonila a heart attack when he placed a rubber snake in one of her glass tree decorations.

Jose enjoyed trips to the casino where he would bet the lowest amount and scream the loudest even when he only won $5.00. He was also a lover of delicious food and enjoyed many years of Leonila’s cooking skills. Jose is also known for his generosity. He was always willing to share whatever he had with other people. Once, he pulled over in a rainstorm just to give an umbrella to someone that needed it. He touched the heart of everyone he met with his kind personality.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 42 years Leonila, his daughter, Jonilyn, his son, Richard, grandchildren, Cole Jackson, Ava Juliana Marie and Launa Catherine Leigh. His siblings: sister, Lily Cruz, brother Floro Ramos and Arturo Ramos along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The visitation will be held March 19 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home at 4216 S Bowen Rd. Arlington, Texas 76016. A rosary will be recited beginning at 6:00 pm.

The funeral mass will be held on March 20 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 1927 W. Green Oaks Blvd. Arlington, Texas 76017.

Interment will follow at Moore Memorial Garden Cemetery at 1219 N. Davis St. Arlington, Texas 76012
