John was born in San Diego, California on February 10, 1962 to Michael and Patricia Simpson. With his parents, he soon moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico where John spent his early years, and then on to Texas for the start of elementary school. John went on to attend Bowie High School where he excelled in many sports. He especially loved playing football for the Bowie Vols. After graduating high school, John enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and graduated as Platoon Honorman. Following the military, John started a job at Pitney Bowes, married his high school sweetheart Amy Shepard, and together they had two wonderful sons, Daniel and Joshua Simpson. John’s career at Pitney Bowes continued until he retired in his early 50s, and through hard work and dedication, John worked himself into a leadership role, supervising all of the work at his site. John loved to fish, enjoyed coaching his sons in all of the sports they would play, became active in his local church, and treasured being “Daddo” to his sweet grandchildren.
John is survived by his parents, Michael Simpson of Arlington and Patricia Vincenti of Flower Mound; his sister, Angela La Bounty of Colleyville and his brother, Steven Simpson of Apollo Beach, Florida; his two sons, Daniel and Joshua; and his five Grandchildren: Brooklyn, Colbie, Aubree, Finley, and Emersyn, all of Arlington, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
John loved and was loved by countless dear friends and colleagues.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Celebrate Recovery at Central Bible Church (formerly Pantego Bible Church).
