Jo Ann Kopp Jeske

Jo Ann Kopp Jeske of Arlington, Texas died April 10, 2025, at her home in Town Village Crossing. She was born November 6, 1936, in Priddy, Texas, the daughter of Herman Kopp and Louse Seilheimer Kopp. She married Richard (Dick) Jeske on September 4, 1954, in Priddy.

Jo Ann was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Priddy. She graduated Valedictorian from Priddy High School and later received a BA in Education from North Texas State University.

She and Dick moved to Arlington in March 1962 and raised their 2 sons, Richard, Jr. and Tim. She taught elementary school in the Arlington district for 25 years. After retirement she and Dick traveled and spent time in their RV in the Rio Grande Valley and Ruidoso, NM., making many friends along the way.

Jo Ann was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church and spent many years sewing quilt tops for Lutheran World Relief. She was a passionate Bridge player, loved a good game of Mah Jongg, and enjoyed many other games with her friends and family. She taught her grandchildren Gin Rummy and other games, never letting them win, building their confidence and creating a bond that runs strong still today.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother, Herman Kopp, Jr., step-mother, Alice Kopp, step-sister, Wynell McGalliard and 3 step-brothers, Robert Rost, Nelson Rost and Norman Rost.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Jr. and wife, Jerri, and Tim and wife, Kim; grandchildren, Brent Jeske (Jessica), Austin Jeske (Kortni), Jamie Kehlenbeck (Chris) and Eric Jeske (Dylan); great-grandchildren, Brucks and James Jeske, Victoria and Madison Jeske, Clara and Morgan Kehlenbeck and Eleanor Jeske.

She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.

A visitation for Jo Ann will be held Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016. A funeral service will occur Friday, April 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 201 W Park Row Dr, Arlington, TX 76010.
