Jimmy was born February 6, 1947 in Haskell, Texas to Ray Ellsworth Lewis and Betty Alverine Jennings. His family moved to Ft. Worth when he was 5 and later to Arlington when his Father joined the newly operational General Motors. In 1965, Jimmy started his career with Martin Sprocket & Gear in Arlington, Tx where he was a machinist for 34 years.
He loved to hunt and fish, teaching his daughters to love them as well. He became involved in photography in 1984 as a hobby, capturing cherished memories of all those he touched, until his retirement in 1998.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Doris Ferguson Lewis of Arlington, his daughters, Julie Lewis-Ausmus of Arlington and Melissa Morris, her husband Ricky Morris and their two children - Chaz and Sheyann - all of Ft. Worth, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Betty Rae Lewis Vaughn and brother Billy Clay Lewis.
