Jim was born on May 11, 1943, to Edna and James “Harry” Whittaker V in Whiston, England. After an apprenticeship in engineering in England, Jim’s work took him and his family from England to Canada and eventually to Texas, where he retired from Bell Helicopter in 2011 after 18 years. He was a generous, loving, and devoted husband, father, and Gammi. Jim loved to fix, re-do things and work on his car. When he wasn’t working on his car, he loved to watch his English football team, Everton.
Jim is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ann Whittaker; sister, Joan and her husband, David; daughter, Linsey and son-in-law, Brad; son, Stuart and daughter-in-law, Heather; grandchildren, Brittany and her husband, Justin, Kirsten, Ashley, and Elizabeth. Jim is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews in England. Jim will be missed by Molly, his beloved Shih Tzu.
A memorial service for James will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 S. Bowen Rd., Arlington, Texas 76016. Following the memorial service will be a catered reception at 2:30 PM.
