Visitation will take place Monday, December 30, 2024 at 1:00, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Dr., Arlington, TX 76012. He will be entombed there in the Mausoleum following the service.
Dick was born on September 29, 1943, in Roscoe, TX. He spent his younger years and later raised his family in Abilene, TX. He attended Texas Tech University and McMurry University. He was known as an astute businessman, holding the title of President of Kelly Moore Paint Company before returning to Abilene to open his own business, Western Tire. Dick eventually moved to Arlington, Texas where he lived the bulk of his remaining years. He was well known in the metroplex for his successful hunting equipment business, Monarch Hunting Products.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed outdoor activities such as boating, skiing, fishing and hunting. Never one to sit still, after retirement, he bought a ranch in Rising Star, TX and added ranching to his list of loves. Dick truly loved to work, which Long Night Ranch provided while also satisfying his other love, the opportunity for family and friends to gather. He was blessed to have two children, Dan and Layne, his brother, Lanny and many friends and grandchildren nearby. He was happiest simply being around others.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents, “Deanie” and Lloyd Jones and Bill Nachlinger. He is survived by his two children, Dan Nachlinger and wife Lisa of Fort Worth and Layne Warr and husband Tommy of Celina; his brother Lannie Jones and wife Christina of Tuscola; his two sisters Peg Eckert and husband Mark of Los Osos, Jan Nachlinger and Ken Taylor of Reno; four grandchildren, Aaron Rhynehart, Alyssa Garrison and husband Will, Jordan Nachlinger and Lauren Nachlinger; one great-granddaughter, Ocean; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Dick’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to The Westmore and St. Gabriel’s Hospice for their loving care.
