James (Jim) Edward Doyle, 49, of Arlington, Texas passed away June 28, 2014. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 30, 1965 to parents James E. Doyle, M.D. and Therese Marie Humenik Doyle. Jim graduated from University of Texas at Arlington with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and received a Masters degree in Technical Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He was married to Pamela Loree Autry on December 31, 1994 and his daughter, Darcy Loree Doyle was born October 28, 1998. All three of them enjoyed flying, Pamela earned her private pilot’s license shortly after they were married.
Jim worked at Lockheed Martin for 14 years as a stress analyst on projects including the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. He was president of EAA subsidiary International Aerobatic Club Chapter 24, The LoneStar Aerobatic Club for the past 3 years and was a strong promoter of general aviation, building and flying airplanes and aerobatic flying. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of history and stories particularly regarding pilots and all aircraft.
He also pursued a love of music and martial arts earning a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Jim and his daughter shared these interests, regularly working out together as well as flying together.
Jim built an award winning Skybolt biplane with custom re-designed features of his own preference which brought him the Bronze Champion Lindy trophy at the EAA Air Venture fly-in in Oshkosh, WI in 2010. He was currently building a Pitts Special S1T with his daughter, Darcy.
Jim won the LoneStar Aerobatic Championships in the Sportsman category in 2013 and he placed 2nd in the Sportsman category in the 2013 International Aerobatic Club United States Nationals competition.
He was an avid supporter, promoter and participant pilot in the EAA Young Eagles program taking scores of young people flying, stressing safety and careful planning while encouraging them to experience the joys of flight.
Jim’s legacy is his generosity of time, energy and knowledge to anyone who showed an interest in his passion, aviation. He was an exceptional friend and family man who adored his wife Pamela and daughter Darcy.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Loree Doyle and daughter Darcy Loree Doyle, his father James E Doyle, M.D., his sisters Colleen M Doyle, Terry D Stinson and her husband Danny and Robin A Rosen and her husband Mitchell, nephews Brandon D Stinson and wife Andrea, and Matthew N Autry, father and mother in law Ronnie and Jeannie Autry of Gainesville, Texas, grandmother in law Imogene "Timer" Robert also of Gainesville, Texas, nieces Kingslea G Lyon, Audrey R Rosen, Ryan B. Stinson, Monica A Autry, Jessica N Autry, Jecca D Autry, brothers-in-law Corie G Autry and wife Jan, and Daubie Autry and wife Nannette.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10AM on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at St Maria Goretti Catholic Church 1200 S Davis Dr Arlington, Tx 76013
