Gary T. Taylor, 72, of Mansfield, TX, passed away on Sunday, October 29th. Services will be held on Saturday, November 4th at Moore Funeral Home, located at 1219 N Davis Dr. Arlington, TX 76012. Visitation begins at noon, followed by a service at 1pm.

Gary was born on November 23, 1950, in Compton, CA and grew up in Lynwood, CA. On January 20, 1973, he married his high school sweetheart, Donna Scharton Taylor, and relocated to Texas, where he immediately donned a cowboy hat and a belt buckle. He was a federal employee of the United States Postal Service for almost 30 years and retired in 2014 at the age of 63. After Donna passed away in 1996, Gary met the other love of his life, Linda Cunning, in the year 2000. They shared many memories together, owning land in Burleson with horses (like a true cowboy) and riding his Harley-Davidsons, as well as spending time with their children and grandchildren, and eventually settling in Mansfield.

Gary “MadDog” Taylor was an avid golfer, a scratch bowler, enjoyed umpiring, and had the best taste in music.

Gary is preceded in death by his wife, Donna, his parents O.D. Taylor Jr. and Glenda Maney Taylor, and his bother O.D. Taylor III. He is survived by his brother Harvey Taylor (Jan), daughter Kristy Sobonya (John), son Jeff Taylor (Heidi), his grandchildren Abby and Zoie, his wife, Linda Cunning, her children Tracy Pettengell (David) and Darla Brown (Darrell) and their grandchildren Shanya, Samantha, Ashton, Cassie, Ashley, as well as great grandchildren Spencer and Dakota.
