Eloise Zane Walters was born on February 28, 1940 in Giddings, Texas. As a child, her fondest memories were spent on the family farm in Brenham, Texas. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, she met the love of her life, whom she married on November 13, 1965. She was a devoted wife to William Philip Allen III for fifty-nine years, a loving mother to her daughters and their husbands, Allison and Terry Webb and Amy and Jamie Schroer, and a doting Mimi to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Travis Dowty (34), Jesse Schroer (30), Jack Dowty (26), Kylee Schroer (24), Kate Dowty (19), Oliver Dowty (5), and Madelyn Dowty (3). She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Ruth Walters of Brenham, Texas.
Throughout her life, Eloise exuded patience, love, compassion, hospitality, a love for Jesus, and a heart of service to anyone with whom her path crossed. She also enjoyed playing the piano and working in the yard and had a special knack for setting off the smoke detector when she cooked. To all those who knew her, it was her joy and beautiful smile that were her most adored attributes. As she faced Dementia during her final decade, her memory may have faded, but her sweet soul, never-ending smile, and kind spirit remained unchanged.
Her service will be held at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 10AM in the North Chapel.
