Dorothy Walker Bishop, aged 97, passed away on October 11, 2024, in Keller, Texas. Born on October 28, 1926, Dorothy lived a vibrant and fulfilling life characterized by her spirited personality and deep-rooted love for her family, friends and Savior Christ Jesus.
Dorothy graduated from Collinsville High School in 1943. She was a farmer, an innovative entrepreneur, and a caring homemaker, roles that she balanced with grace and vigor throughout her life.
She was a member the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Dorothy's faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and interactions with those around her.
Dorothy was a woman of many interests and talents. She was an avid storyteller, known for captivating her audience with tales that were both entertaining and insightful. Her hobbies included cooking for her family, playing dominoes, working on jewelry, fishing, and traveling with her sisters. She also had a passion for music, playing the piano and singing, which brought great joy to her and those lucky enough to listen.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her son, Gary Bishop, her granddaughters and great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Bishop, her daughter, Cherry Anne Chandler, and her son, Ronnie Lynn Bishop.
A service to honor Dorothy's life will be held at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas on November 25, 2024. Dorothy's life was a testament to her zest for life and her unwavering commitment to her family and friends. She was a very special person, loved by everyone who knew her and will be deeply missed.
