My heart is heavy today. I was trying to find you in Facebook today. When I couldn’t find you I remembered your husband’s name was Wayne. I looked him up and saw your gorgeous pictures. To my surprise I discovered you were gone and now in Heaven.  I will always remember you as a classy lady. You were brilliant, kind, and the best supervisor I ever had in my life time at St Paul Insurance Company. I wished I would have looked for you sooner to let you know you touched my life in a positive and beautiful way.  I will love you always. To the family, I’m so sorry for your loss. She was one of a kind as you already know. May God give you comfort and peace. Im so sorry I just found out today. ❤️

We love you and miss you! What I would give to just hear your voice, smell you , or just a comforting hug or most of all that contagious laugh.  The lord needed you more, just always show your spirit and fly high….

Debbie, I lost a friend and a great Manager. I remember our chats we had about our families. We talked about: Your grandkids and how they were your pride and joy, Wayne, your sons, your trip to the farm, the family reunion, your niece, your sister wedding,  your motorcycle rides, you wanting to take a trip to Rome to see the Vatican and the list goes on. Our last conversation we had was me trying to convenience you to retire and enjoy life. You said to me, “Sylvia, I am not leaving the office like this, I need some positions filled before I head out.  You always cared about your employees.You were a wonderful manager! I will miss our conversations and most of all your beautiful smile. When I see a hummingbird and drink a Margarita I will always think of you.

I first started working for Debbie in 1996 and then followed her to a few more places.  In my 40+ years in the insurance industry, she was the best supervisor/manager I ever had the pleasure of working for.  You could talk to her about anything whether it be work or personal related issues, she was always there and considered a friend, not just a supervisor/manager.  She was well respected and will be missed by so many people.  Rest in peace Debbie.

My heart aches over the loss of this precious friend. I have the sweetest memories of Debbie….what a proud new mother she was so many years ago, her fun sense of humor, laughing and joking with her and Rhonda, Sonja and “Mammaw” at their family gatherings. I can’t picture Debbie without a smile on her face. Even through tears over the  loss of a loved one, she managed to smile. She had a kind and loving heart, a sturdy work ethic, a profound devotion to family,  and clearly touched the hearts of many. I cherish the memories and feel so very blessed to have known her.

We worked together as team leaders many yours before you became my supervisor.  We had many talks over the years.  While we had some differences when it came to work,  at the end of the day they was much respect and love for each other.  Your family was so important to you especially Bryson and Sierra.  You always lit up when talking about them.  I am praying for them as a know how much you will be missed. 

Wayne, you know how much Debbie and I loved each other.  I know that life has pulled us apart, but never very far.   She is a light that will never dim, a laugh that will never dwindle.  Her smile always made things better.   My heart is so heavy and so is Donnie’s,  we are heartbroken.  She said to me after Sonya went to Heaven…We have to get together, laugh, cry and hug each other.  Debbie will always be in my heart, my precious friend  and partner in Sturgis. 

What a wonderful person we’re all going to miss. She was not just my co-worker, my supervisor or my manager she was most importantly my friend.  It felt like I had known her for years from the moment I met her. We shared so much about our families and dreams. She loved her family immensely but her grandchildren were the light of her life she would simply glow talking about them.  She loved mowing at the farm, admiring her flowers and watching her hummingbirds. I will miss her being there to listen and never judge, offer her words of wisdom, or making even the toughest situations or conversations- personal or work related seem so easy.  Debbie I will think of you every time I see a beautiful hummingbird! 

Dear sweet beautiful Debbie,  you are so truly loved by many.  Your heart was always open.  Your love was always genuine.  Your hugs were always welcomed.  Your ears were always listening.  Your voice was always comforting.  I will miss you so much cause you were my sister in so many ways.  God rest your soul. 

I was stunned when I found this from a Facebook post. One of my fondest memories was when you and Uncle Wayne, my mom and Bill and Uncle Shane lived in the same neighborhood and I would ride my bike down to the park and we would really cheer for Derrick while Uncle Wayne coached the team. I really cherished that time with you. I loved riding my bike to your house and play with Derrick as he was younger than me; and I loved those salt water aquariums, I could sit and get lost in. Uncle Wayne I don’t know what happed because I’m left out of all info, but please know that I love you very much and please call if you need anything at all. RIP Beautiful Lady. My sister gave birth to my beautiful niece, Debbie in 1953, just  3 months after I was born. Debbie and I spent most of our childhood and preteen years together--either sleeping in the same bed, the same room, the house next door, or around the corner,. At Christmas we got the same fashion dolls. We listened to the same music. We had our first dance party together (the year “Meet the Beatles” album had just been released). 
When we were growing up, Debbie was my best friend. She was a bridesmaid at my wedding. Most importantly, I loved her dearly. 
To the rest of the world, Debbie was clearly a hard working professional woman, leader, mentor,  friend, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, loving daughter, granddaughter, sister and aunt. But to me to me, she was this crazy combination "niece/sister/best friend” whom I can’t recall even one time in 68 years not getting along with. Ours was one of the simplest, easiest relationships that I have ever had.  This world, or at least my world, will always be a little smaller, a little less fun, a little less kind, a little less disciplined, and honestly, just a little less in every possible way, without her. She was the best.

Debbie was  my first memory of my first job after college. She was my first supervisor & she did almost all of my training. She is the reason I stuck around. Debbie had stepped into another role, but we came full circle 11 years later,  and she was helping out my team and was managing me once again. I had actually gotten to talk to her on quite a few occasions lately. She was always so witty & funny.  I won’t ever forget that she would have to call our cube section down if we started having too much fun (even though we know she never really cared!) She was a wonderful boss & mentor. She even told me I had to bring my son into meet her before I could come back to work from maternity leave. 

Debbie, you always had the sharpest wit, the sincerest laugh, and the sagest advice. You were such an incredible mentor to me and I cannot express enough how much the world (and I) will miss you. I remember you sending Amy and I photos of hundreds of pairs of your mom's shoes, wondering what on earth to do with all of them. They covered every bed in the house and just when you thought you had pulled them all out, the next closet would have even more. We laughed about those shoes so often. Thank you so much for all the time you put in with us. You always gave 110% and I hope that I can live up to your example.

What a beautiful last memory when my aunt came to my home.  She was a blessing to have around and I will always remember her as a graceful and loving woman.  Peace be with her soul and all those who were lucky enough to know her.  I’m blessed to have called her my Aunt Debbie.
