David was born August 18, 1941 in Marlin, Texas. He was raised by his late mother, Jimmie McCoy Alexander, and his late step-father, Alex Alexander, in Waco, Texas and Alexandria, Louisiana. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 and served for a total of 8 years. David married Penny, on May 12, 1984 and they spent many happy years together. David had a career in the tire business for over 30 years and then went to work for DFW Airport for 11 years in transportation. He was also a member of Lake Church in Arlington.
David was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who never missed watching a Texas Rangers game. He had a quirky sense of humor and infectious laugh that will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
David was preceded in death by his first wife, Sherri McCoy, and grandchild, Dustin McCoy.
Survivors: loving wife of 37 years and devoted mother to his children, Penny; children, Denise McCoy, Thomas McCoy, Jr. and wife, Tammy, Jenifer Fairbanks, Cliff Jenkins and Dee, and Darren Jenkins and fiancé, Erica; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Moore; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
