Dale Lawrence Powell

ARLINGTON-Dale L. Powell, 84, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2012 surrounded by his loving family in Fort Worth. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Moore Bowen Funeral Home, 4216 S. Bowen Road in Arlington at 11 AM. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Moore Bowen Funeral Home from 6-8 PM. Interment will be on June 22, 2012 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City, OK at 2 PM. Dale was born on April 3, 1928 in Ponca City, OK. He was a graduate of Oklahoma State University and moved to Arlington in 1973. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He was a distinguished civil engineer and was a charter member of the St. Barnabas Methodist Church. Dale also was a member of the Diamond Jubileers Square Dance Club, and the Arlington Men's Garden Club. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Timpy Powell; his parents, Carmen H. Powell and Viola Mayhew-Hills Powell; and brother, Dick Powell. Survivors include his wife, Joan Powell; children, Jeff Powell and his wife, Jari, Nancy Powell Tizzard and her husband, Thomas, Darcy Schedler and her husband, Greg, and Robyn Butler and her husband, George; grandchildren, Brad Tizzard and his wife, Lisa, Julie Tizzard Harrison and her husband, David, Carli Powell, Aili Butler, and Gina Butler; great grandchildren, Clayton Harrison, Avery Tizzard, and Aubrey Maise; niece, Cindy Powell Wilson; nephew, Steve Powell; and special friends, Bob and Frieda Buesing.
