on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at the age of 73. Born July 4, 1951, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late James Williams and the late Hildred Poche Williams.
Charles was the devoted husband of Landus Williams. He was a loving older brother to Jim Williams and a loving and caring father to his two daughters, Chanttell Patin and the late Nicole Williams, as well as a dedicated and supportive stepfather to Macy Crockens and the late Douglas George.
Charles is also survived by his granddaughter, Deryn Patin. A man of intellect and integrity, Charles attended Southern University in New Orleans achieving his Bachelor’s degree and went on to Tulane University Law School, graduating from both at the top of his class, where he not only excelled as a student but later returned to impart his knowledge as a professor.
His commitment to education and his students left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of learning from him. Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Charles relocated to Arlington, Texas, where he continued to be a source of strength and guidance to his family and friends. Charles's love for the natural
world and music were constants throughout his life.
Whether he was exploring the outdoors or playing or listening to music or enjoying a conversation about world news, his passions brought him joy and comfort.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation in honor of Charles’s life and legacy. Charles will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
A prayer service will be held in Charles’s honor at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012, on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 10:00 AM.
