Charles was born Jan. 1, 1934, in Mount Enterprise to Dewey and Eathel Webb and was the youngest of five sons. Following high school graduation, he attended business school in Tyler. After graduation he became employed with the Santa Fe Railroad. Charles met his wife, Joan, during his employment at the railroad and they married April 3, 1954.
He took a sales position in 1957 with United States Steel, and later took a position with Vinson Supply until his retirement in 1987. At both places he enjoyed many friendships that lasted until his passing. Charlie was quite the storyteller. He knew how to embellish a rather mundane event and sprinkle his own sense of humor into the telling. He loved to hunt and fish with his family and friends. In his later years he cherished time spent watching and feeding the squirrels and birds in his back yard.
Charles, Dad, Pop, Poppa deeply loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was always happy to see us and greeted us with outstretched arms, hugs and kisses. Those moments will be terribly missed, but greatly cherished.
We will remember him in our hearts and minds forever.
