Charles Curtis (Curt) Felkner was born November 26, 1935, in the Willow Point community of Wise County, Texas, to Jesse Lois Felkner and Mittie Frances Middleton Felkner. He passed from this life August 26, 2022, at Springtown, Texas, having reached the age of 86 years.
Charles attended Tarleton State College, receiving an associate in science degree in 1955, and Texas Agricultural & Mechanical College (Texas A&M), receiving a bachelor of business administration degree in 1957. He was a pitcher for the Aggie baseball team.
Charles worked for the city of Arlington in the Audit Department, retiring in 1996. Charles was a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Charles proudly served in the United States Army Reserve, achieving the rank of Captain. Charles was a member of the Hillcrest church of Christ. He served as the church treasurer. Charles was a member of the Arlington Municipal Employees Association. Charles was a member of the Breakfast Optimist Club of Arlington.
Charles’ great loves were his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, his family and friends and Texas A&M University & all Aggie sports teams. Charles enjoyed traveling across the United States, camping and meeting people. He developed a great fondness for Germany after a trip there in 1990.
Charles is survived by brothers James Leslie Felkner and Roy Dean Felkner & wife Karen; brother-in-law Lawrence D. Alford & wife Nevell. Nieces: Andrea Mazo & husband Scott, Amanda King & husband Aaron, Nicole Lacey & husband Kyle.
Great-Nieces: Shelby Beeman & husband Cayman, Emily Mazo, Fifer King.
Charles is preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Peggy Joyce Alford Felkner; his son, Curtis Lewellyn Felkner, and his sister, Mitzie Lois Felkner.
There will be a visitation on Friday September 16th from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas.
