She was welcomed by her older brother, Dennis Foster and not long after, she welcomed Steven Foster.
Several years would pass before her youngest sibling Gary Foster joined her growing family.
It was around 1970 when she graduated from Wayne High School in Wayne. MI. She received her degree in English from Cameron University, Lawton, OK in the late 80’s. It was in the latter part of 1973 when she was determined to “Be All She Could Be” and joined the Women’s Army Corp to proudly serve her country.
It was in Ft. Meade, MD that she met David W. Roberts, the father of her children, Michelle and Steven Roberts. Bonnie and David were married sixteen years before their lives took separate paths.
Bonnie’s life compass would later lead her to meet Dr. James W. Porter with whom she spent the next eleven years developing the mindset and skills of entrepreneurship. Bonnie received special recognition as a Texas Master Florist and later perfected her craft becoming a Certified Balloon Artist for her talent and passion for floral design and balloon decor.
Bonnie would eventually be led to lead the life God had already designed for her and fall in love with, Hubert Roy Sims, the father of his already grown children, Keith “Dallas”, Julie, Bryan and Liz. Family was of extreme importance to Bonnie and it was the love in the relationships that created the special bonds.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Rachel Foster and her brother Steven Foster. She will be truly missed and never forgotten by her loving husband, Hubert “Roy” Sims, her children, Michelle Lowe and Steven (Ronda) Roberts and Keith (Jackie) Sims, Julie (Gary) Bolton, Bryan (Marjorie) Sims and and Elizabeth (Gene) Thomas.
She also leaves behind 24 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, the latest arriving the day she lost her battle with Covid to be with the Lord.
Bonnie will always be remembered as loving wife, a phenomenal mother, a supportive grandmother and a gracious great grandmother who always took the time to make each milestone a festive, fun and memorable event in the lives of those she knew and loved.
