Anna L. Williams, age 89, of Arlington, Texas passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022.
Anna Lee Johnson was born November 13, 1933, in Crandon, Wisconsin to Troy and Vivian (Derrickson) Johnson. She was the second oldest of four girls. The family moved to Michigan for work opportunities during WWII. Anna herself began working early, babysitting and working at a Dairy Bar, a first job she remembered fondly. She graduated from South Lyon High School and soon after married David Williams Sr. Together they had four children and moved around the U.S. as Dave’s career progressed. Anna worked part time intermittently, especially around the holidays for extra Christmas spending money. She prioritized caring for her family and being active in her local Methodist church wherever they were living. She especially enjoyed reading, crocheting, and quilting. Throughout the moves, she maintained her lifelong friendships with many and built new friendships.
After 38 years of marriage, she stood with her daughters in truth and reset her life with a divorce from David. She moved back to Arlington and began a full-time career at Dillard’s. She became an award-winning salesclerks in the Women’s department. She also became active in Good Shepherd United Methodist Church where she remained a member until her passing. Her legacy includes her family, her faith, her humor, her strength, and her beautiful gift giving and gift-wrapping skills.
She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Jade Williams (John), Beth Worthington, Holly Villarreal (Wello), Brad Worthington (Cat), Anthony Williams (Angela), Alex Williams (Allie), Emily Lampton (Trevor) and Spencer Williams. And she is survived by 10 great-grandchildren: Halle, Ella Lily, Brody, Alexa, Ronin, Lana, Dacre, Lorenzo, and Anna.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Christine Johnson, Judy Davids, and May Koontz, and her oldest son David Williams Jr. She is survived by her daughters Diane Worthington and Tracey Williams, and her son Tony Williams (Lisa).
She will be lovingly remembered by these family members as well as her extended family of nieces and nieces, and many faithful friends.
