Alice E Rioux

Alice E. Rioux, 92, of Grand Prairie, Texas, died at 11:15 PM, Saturday, April 18, 2015 at The Presbyterian Hospital in Kaufman, Texas. She was born September 11, 1922 in Gillespie, Illinois, to George and Lydia Shanahan. She graduated from Secondary School and moved to Chicago, Illinois where she married Willard (Bill) Rioux on June 8, 1943.

Surviving are her brother Richard (wife Betty) of Irving, daughter Carole Rathbone of Mabank, and daughter-in-law Dorothy Rioux of Grand Prairie, 6 grandchildren Sandra (husband Lee), Harold, Jennifer (husband Scott), Bryan (wife Christina), Greg and Heidi, 9 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alice’s father George Shanahan, mother Lydia Shanahan, husband Willard Rioux, son James Rioux, son Michael Rioux, son-in-law Harold Rathbone, 4 sisters and 4 brothers preceded her in death.

Alice was a long time resident of Grand Prairie where she lived since leaving Chicago. She was a care provider to her family until her passing. She loved to read, enjoyed card games, gardening, traveling and visiting with her friends and family.

The visitation is from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM on Monday, April 27, 2015 at the Moore Funeral Home 4216 S. Bowen Road, Arlington, Texas 76016. The funeral service will follow at 12:30 PM at the DFW National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211 where she will be buried with her husband Willard.

Deacon Willy Montano will be officiating.
