Warren Roberts Wise

Warren Roberts Wise, age 93, of Arlington Heights, IL, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, March 31, 2023.

Warren was born on October 8, 1929, in Beaver City, NE to Harold and Doris (nee Roberts) Wise. He attended Lincoln High School, then graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska in 1950. Warren received his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nebraska in 1953 and a Master of Laws degree from Georgetown University in 1960. He also served as an accountant in the US Army during the 1950's.

For several years, Warren worked for the US Justice Department in Washington, DC. Following that, he spent the majority of his career working in the legal department for Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company in Springfield, MA. At the time of his retirement in 1993, Warren was the company's General Counsel. With his legal expertise, Warren published a book about taxation law titled "Business Insurance Agreements" in 1970.

Family and faith were always important to Warren. He met his wife of 61 years, Marcia, at Fourth Presbyterian Church in the Washington DC area and they were later married there on October 14, 1961. Together they had 3 children and 7 grandchildren. Warren and his family attended church regularly, where he served on various church boards and in leadership roles over the years.

A favorite pastime of Warren's was playing golf. He enjoyed the sport so much, that in retirement, he and Marcia spent their summers living in Cape Cod and winters in Sarasota, FL so he could play year-round. In addition to golf, Warren enjoyed skiing with his kids, reading about his interests, and researching and writing about his family genealogy.

Warren is survived by his wife, Marcia (nee Hench) Wise; his children Debbie (Neil) Kaiser, David (Kristin) Wise, and Susan (Jay) Brown; his grandchildren Hannah Kaiser, Alisa (Braxton) West, Sam, James, and Will Wise, Joshua and Zachary Brown. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd.,1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 am. Interment is private.
